Hi all! :) We’re taking a break from work tomorrow as it is a public holiday, hooray! Time to snap some shots of the boxes of products due for review in September. It’s going to be a super busy month for me, packed with deadlines and whatnots. Mid-month, I’ll also be making the yearly trip back to school to speak with the 3rd years on internship etiquette. :)
I was out and about over the weekend, and managed to buy some awesome organza bags for Teachers’ Day. My lecturers are in for some yummy treats! ;)
Okay, so I decided it’s time to show you what I got for myself as a birthday gift. Presenting, my Chanel 11A Red Caviar Wallet On Chain (“WOC”) with Silver Hardware! Here’s a photo of me wearing it. Btw, don’t you just love the cheery yellow background? I’m wearing my Heritage 1981 plaid shirt, which I ordered online and which, unfortunately, is a size too big. It’s really baggy, and makes me look way fat. I’m also wearing a teal bow headband, gifted by the lovely Ratta (I’ll be writing a blog post on the parcel she sent me).
I’d been reading so much about the WOC, but never actually considered purchasing it because I thought the chain would be too long on me. It wasn’t until my recent trip to Marina Bay Sands that I tried it on, and realised that it ain’t that bad after all. :)
Initially, I’d wanted to pick a black caviar WOC, but it wasn’t available. They sell out real quick! On hindsight, I already have a black Jumbo Classic Flap, so I should get something other than black.
Then there was the navy blue, so beautiful, but it didn’t stand out quite as much as red did. There was only one last piece of navy blue WOC left at Marina Bay Sands (Ngee Ann City had long sold out).
I’ve never considered a red wallet or bag, but somehow this red spoke to me. It was my chance to own a coloured Chanel, so this was it! Here’s a close-up. It’s not a true lipstick red; rather, it’s a subtle, muted shade of red. It doesn’t scream “LOOK AT ME!” but I do get some stares. Referred to as the 11A red (“11″ meaning the year “2011″, and “A” meaning “Autumn”), this shade of red will no longer be available once it sells out. When the next collection arrives in stores, there will be different colours. Maybe more fab, who knows!
- 6 cards,
- iPhone,
- USB charging cable (I should get another one for the office so that I don’t have to carry mine around everyday!),
- eyeliner,
- a packet of tissues,
- a key pouch,
- some notes and coins, and
- receipts.
Use the WOC on its own as a small bag (across the body, slung on one shoulder by your side, or with the chain looped twice as an evening shoulder bag), or put it in a bigger tote and use it as a wallet. I think it’s a tad heavy to carry in a bigger bag though, as the chain cannot be removed. :(
Those of you interested in getting the WOC, it’s also available in gorgeous lambskin, which is difficult to take care of as it’s prone to scratch marks.
Already own the WOC? Love it? Share!
